The Chronicle of a 4yo girl's birthday cake

The girls 4th birthday are coming.
This year we decided not to have any theme party but a simple cake cutting session with the family members instead.

However, I dont mind getting another cake for them to celebrate with their classmates... especially when they are aware that they are turning 4 soon and they actually know it fall on which day and kept asking me why it took so long for the day to come.

and the conversation starts...

me: " Children... so what cake will you like to have for 4yo birthday?"
abe: " Mm.... ORANGE cake!"
clara: " I want strawberry cake!"

Last year they had a 2-tier pink colour cake with many strawberries fruits surrounded. Clara dont really have a strong preference.

me: " Abella, mommy is asking for the feature, do you really just want an orange colour cake?"
abe: " YES! " still grinning away.

me: " Then how about "Mr bean" cake?" (hee.. teasing them. Mr bean is their favourite show lately but I regreted saying that immediately.)
wtpg: " YES!! I want, I want Mr bean cake!!!"

Cant imagine a dainty 4yo girl bday cake is a comical Mr bean face?! Trying to ammend their decision...
me: " Children, Im afraid it's difficult to find "Mr bean" cake, probably will involve some copyright too. Maybe we can get Mr bean's pet, the bear instead?"
(A bear cake will be nicer and easily avaliable too... hehe)
wtpg: " OK!!!"

*Bingo*

However, though bear pic is easy available, but none looks like Mr bean's brownie bear...

wtpg: " Mommy, hv u got my Mr bean's bear cake huh?"
me: " Er... girls, Im sorry, I cant get it actually... can we have other choice instead?"

Abella really starts thinking...
me:" What about strawberry shortcake? or princess? or butterfly?"
Abe: " Mommy, Im thinking... Let me think ok."
me: " ... ... ... ok. When u hv decided.. jus let me know..."
Abe: " Mommy, I want a bus cake! Yes a bus cake!"

-_-" Cant they just be more girlish... choose flowers or princess or butterfly and dolls etc instead?

Still.. I search for a "bus" cake but it's really not easily available unless custom make which I really dont wish to pay for the extra.

Lastly...
me: " Girls, Im sorry, I cant find "bus" cake too... can u choose dinosaur or lion? I saw a lion cake and the mane is your fav colour orange!"
(narrowing the category... hopfully can end the dilemma)
Clara: "Dinosaur!"
Abe: " Mm... mommy let me think huh.."

me: "Clara, you will like to hv dinosaur ha? but you hv to discuss with Abella then both of you agreed with one, ok?"

So the two girls engaged in a discussion....
Abe: "Mommy, we want the lion cake. But when we are 5yo can you buy the dinosaur cake, then 6yo orange cake and 7yo strawberry cake..."
me: " Ok ok ok..."

Finally!!!
5yo? 6yo? 7yo?... 0_0 next year then worry lar... haha
