Constipated Abella

Lately Abella is having difficulties poo-pooing due to the consequence of not drinking plentiful water and eating enough fibre food. There were even incident where she woke up in the middle of the night, scream crying as she wanted to poo-poo but the stool must be very hard that she cramped her both legs so stiff to prevent the poo-poo coming out!
Last weekend, consecutive 3 day she was having constipation. We were advised to give her bananas, yorghurt and cheese believing will aggravate her bowel system but infact too much of these cause them constipated. In the end we resort to give her prune juice and indeed it proven to be an laxative drink. Half an hour later, she is able to pass out the stool and continuous for that day, whenever she fart, she will hv some stain on her diaper.
(actually I wanted to take photo of the piece of Abella's triumph, but the daddy feel disgusted and refused to fetch me the camera)

Eating too much bananas will definitely cause constipation. Try avoid giving her if she always has constipation problem. Btw, puree prunes work even better than the prune juice.
THKS Ange for your infor... i didnt know bananas will cause constipation till that day i search the web about constipation and now your infor. All the while for me if i take bananas... i can hv very smooth output. Heehee...
I will hit ur advice and get her prunes puree to mix into her oatmeal! how does this sound?
Hehe... I am not Ange, Ange is the artistic lady from earthember.com :)
I have never tried prunes puree with oatmeal before... thk the taste maybe a bit weird. Prunes puree on its own is quite nice.
Yes, bananas for adult seems to work wonders when we have constipation. But for young toddlers, it will do a totally different thing.

Btw, i couldnt find any prune puree near my plc supermart, however i had bought some dried prune (though dried, still soft). I chopped them n mix wif cornflake and diced wholemeal bread...seem to be a nice finger snack for them...my children are enjoying.
U can just called me CM. :P
I remember my FIL got the Heinz/Gerber baby prunes puree from Shop N Safe. U might want to check them up. Not sure how dried prunes can help your child becos they probably just shallow the whole thing without chewing.
