Discipline (part 2) of Potty Training

Last weekend I was chatting over the phone wif Bernice's mother and of course, our conversation never exclude children. I still find potty training my girls are so difficult whereas it's so simple and not worth a task to her.

I tick check the list of symptom telling if my children are ready for potty:

1. Pull down their own pant (tick)

2. Say out the word "poo-poo" (tick)
and they know that poo-poo comes out from backside. Hahaha, this reminds me of this morning incidents. Abella was lying on the sofa while my maid changed her soiled pamper, and Clarabelle was standing behide her. The maid was bending forward and Clarabelle pointed the maid's backside and said poo-poo! Hahaha, the shy maid was so embarassed saying " no...kaka didnt poo-poo... " Clarabelle insisted, pointing at her backside, noded her head, reciting poo poo...poo poo...
Sometime when i do recap with their body anatomy, they will include their backside, pointing to it and say poo-poo.

3. No problem sitting on the potty but half and hour gone, still no outcome... instead triggle mummy's nature call as keep making the hmm...hmm... sound. Whereas it took only 2 days for Bernice to be potty trained. She was saying I have to enforce " Dont messed with mummy! " and " Hoot!" (Hoot - in hokkien means whack). When the children poo-poo didnt tell, Hoot! When they wee-wee didnt tell, Hoot! Though mum will feel heart pain but it's the fastest way as children will know that we are in charge and we are not kidding! Then Bernice sometime will tell her mum she wants to wee-wee but when brought to the loo and no wee-wee, the mummy say must Hoot! also. Hahaha, the children are so smart, they will take advantage of anything to catch adult's attention. Hai... though I always disagreed spanking, but I think moderate or appropriate one still essential when administering discipline.

I also realise that most of the children after 1st birthday still not potty trained are mostly working mother's child and dont have a care giver willing to take up the task. If just depending on the time after mummy's back from work is not sufficient. As when we are home, the most things we wanted to engage in is just talking, cuddling and gazing at the them, but not chasing after bare bottom children, hooting their backside and cleaning up those pee spot. And weekends are mostly outing, so???
