Random post

This morning, I decided to practice my Yoga.

Doing yoga alone at home is rather a different mood, not much achievement too, albeit I was perspiring.

Then I heard a wriggling movement coming from my girls' bedroom. I think is a good excuse for me to end the flexing.. :p

Went peeping into the room, Clara had already opened her eyes and seem day dreaming.
I sat near her : "good morning doggy..." (will explain y call her doggy next time)
Turning to me, we gaze at each other... then she stretch her hand reaching my forehead asking...
"why are u "expire" ? "
" Is perspire.. "
" Mommy why did u perspire? "
" Is because the weather is hot.."
" why aint u in the aircon room?" (we always on our bedroom aircon)
"Because Im in the living room doing yoga"
" why didnt u on the fan? didnt we have a fan in the living rm? "
"Yes, we hv a fan, mommy forget... " :) (actually im just lazy)
Touching her own forehead " I did not perspire because I on my fan... "

Yes.. my silly girl... :)

Just then another wriggling movement beside us...
I long know Abella has wake up just that she is keeping silence and eavedropping our conversation.
She probe in between us...
"Good morning doggy!" I greeted her.
Abella pout and turn away. Then she turn back and meow as a innocent kitten..
I see.. so she's a cat today...
"Good morning kitty!"
Got her satisfaction reply, she cuddle in my folded leg like a cat...
My girls... but... such a hot weather.... making people so lazy... :(

Expressive

Indeed it have been a while I did not update this site and my wtpg had turned fantastic 5 three weeks ago.
Guilty mum, especially seeing such milestone the girls had achieved and I have not been diligently updating. How can I?

Brought the girls to Terpanyaki dinner on their birthday. They had enjoyed it and see how Clara had imprinted the moment into pictorial without any guidance...

She impressed & surprised me!

Nothing artistic but I simply love it.
Her drawing is joyful.
She is a happy girl.

Another piece of her doodle...
See all the happy animals...

and I love her details.
She had added a signboard... Zoo

You ask for it

On Monday the girls were on "medical leave".

I knew they had occasion cough for quite a while but last Sunday night they had difficulties sleeping due to stuffy nose.

We decided to bring them to the doctor and Im glad we did.

The two sick girls were still playing & jumping as usual though Clarabelle appeared more petulance.

But to my dismay, Abella was diagnosed with mild bronchitis but the more petulance Clara just normal cold cough. Luckily nebulizer not required unless she complaint further breathing difficulties.

Not to worries, my two girls are getting well now.. :)

But from this incident, I reminded myself never treat their symptom lightly, no matter how small it is.

Oh.. actually I wanted to share a funny incident...keke... my bone felt tickle, whenever I related this.. kekeke...

So, on Monday night after their medicine, I urged the girls for an early rest as tomorrow they are going back school. But then my two selective "diligent" girls wanted to do some phonics assessment first. Well, we shouldnt deprive them from learning so I agreeded to do some reading on the bed.

Then when I was asking them to tell me words end with the letter "n"... Clara behaved ignorance and kept giving me the wrong word. I knew she was tired but it was her that initiated to do the assessment and I really discourage to do thing half way.

Her continue ignorance get on my nerves and I raised my voice.

She began to cry. I reminded her unreasonable crying doesnt help but make me more angry.
She continued to cry. I walked out the room.

Abella followed me to another room. I explained to her why I am angry.
She noded her head..

A while later, there was silent from Clara. When I opened her door, she had buried her face in her pillow but looked up when heard us. (Her face was pityful. Haha)

I told her I came back because she had stopped crying. I am willing to accept her apology.
But Clara just kept mum.

Still mum even I had intrigued her. I was mad when she kept her mouth so tight and seem grinding her teeth.

"What is that in your mouth?!"
"Open your mouth!"
"Open your mouth now!!"

She sense I am seroius, no choice but opened her mouth.
The next moment we experienced little merlion.
Her mouth was filled with saliva and phlegm!
And all gushed out like merlion pour!
(She must have cry till cough and induced the phlegm and probably the reason she stopped crying too)

I broke into smile. My poor little innocent broke into guilty smile too.
We were all soaked in our apology gaze and forgotten to save the newly changed bedsheet.
But changing bedsheet and mess created by them is never such light-hearted as that night.

After all the cleaning, I tugged the girls to bed snuggly.
Sweet dream, my dears... mommy love you...

Good time, bad time

Last weekend, Clarabelle caught me surprised with her "clock reading" worksheet.

She actually had all correctly linked!

To ensure she was not guessing, I got her to do another worksheet. Confidantly and correctly, she completed it without much thinking.

I was so impressed and exaggerative excited, yelling for the daddy while giving her praises and kisses.

Quietly, I observed another girl. She was feeling envious. Trying to do something creditable too.

Slowly she drew out a box of puzzle. One by one, she fixed it in the correct sequence order. She knew I was observing her. And I knew what she wants. Though that puzzle was no longer a challenge for her. She was very familiar with it. The moment I saw her completed one strip, I was very eager to praise her.

But Abella was ambitious. She wanted to complete all the strips. True enough, when she had compeleted all, proudly she brought it to me and of course, I bestow her.

Then Clarabelle came and wanted to do the puzzle. But Abella thought that was her glory and forbidded her.

A round of squabble started.

Ended with a pool of messed up puzzle , two anguished girls and three wordless ladies...

Motherhood. Good time. Bad time.

We have a new mommy & baby at home...

One evening when I picked the girls from school, Clarabelle was talking like a baby, babbling away...

me : " Clarabelle, can you talk properly? I cant understand what are you talking about. "

then Abella : " No mommy, because Clarabelle is a baby, that's why she cant talk properly..."

Abella took Clara's bag and say : " Come baby, mommy holds your hand..."

and both of the just walk off, leaving me, the real mommy behind -_-"

Well... It's very normal for children at this age to inmitate or role play. But seeing it still, is so funny! Ha ha :)

I hold your hand

One day, I was in the walk-in wardrobe packing. The girls were playing around the house. Then I heard Abella asking for me to give her some biscuits, " Mommy, I want biscuit..."

Heheh, l love hide-n-seek, so quickly, I hide inside the wardrobe and she really missed me :p
" Mommy, I want biscuit...mommy, I want biscuit..." I can hear her foot step walking around the house to look for me.

Few minutes passed. I can sense her anxiety and any moment, she will melt down. Just when I was about to give in, I heard Clarabelle, : "huh? Abella, what happen huh? Dont scare huh? I hold your hand..." and she joined in the hunting for me, " Mommy... where are you..."

How can I resist anymore? Quickly I showed up myself and hugged both of my girls... they were screaming and yelling finally found me :)

Abella . Clarabelle

Eversince I bought the 25 pieces puzzle for the girls, Abella seem to have cultivate the interest in it and she is doing very well. She can complete the puzzle without my assistant. I think she has the potential and I even thought of getting her more challenging one, say 500 pieces!!! heheheh :p
See, everynight the diligent girl insist to play the puzzle before bed, "mommy, I want to play the puzzle... just a while only... last one... "
Whereas the hyperactive-playful-cheeky Clarabelle already fallen into her deep deep dreamland...

Abella & Clarabelle love singing. But Clarabelle is the cheeky one who will always change the lyrics of the song or singing nonsensically with the rhythm.
Example, heard of a chinese 儿歌, wei wei 不要怕 ?

the original lyric...
wei wei 不要怕, 你是个好娃娃
自己跌倒,自己爬
你看山上为你开满红花
你是个好娃娃
你要是跌到就要自己爬

Clarabelle's lyric...
yi ji pu ah pa
ni ji ji ji hua
yi ji pu ah pa
ni yi ji ji pah
yi ji pu ah pa
ni ji ji ji ah

then repeat again and again -_-

Abella . Clarabelle
13 kg . 14.5 kg
95 cm . 96 cm
detailed . carefree
neat . untidy
concentrate . distracting

"Bonny" Clarabelle

Looks like I cant have very high hope on my girls, especially Clarabelle, to be a more demure or refine lady since their mother herself isnt one, especially the 吃相 (table manners). Hiak hiak hiak...

I love the "bonny" part of most food.
I love the fins, tails & backbone of the fishes.
I love chicken wings. Will always order "鸡尾饭" whenever I eat chicken rice.
I love pork ribs. My mum's teochew style 肉骨茶 is especially Yummy!

and see Clarabelle enjoying her giant pork rib!

and also take a look at the state of the chicken bone Clarabelle had eaten... If not because I had stop her, she may had disintegrated it further -_-

Note:
Initially this was an longer write-up, more description & elaborating on how I consume those "bonny" food but later I read it myself, it's so gross!

Erk! It can be so disgusted... I feel like becoming a vegeterian now...-_-

My two Ah girl

For quite sometime, I have been obeserving the girls' behaviour. My mom told me children 三岁定性. So I quite concern my children turn out a good personality & happy person.

Abella used to be serious & introvert. She was not expressive, seldom smile. Im so worried she turn into a melancholy child. But eversince she recovered from a fever two months ago, she has become more cheerful, more smile on the face and sometimes even do funny act. She talks alot too, listen and express what she wants. Im so glad she's more interacting & fun now.

However, the used to be cheerful & talkative Clarabelle has become temperamental instead. She is always moody, selective listening and dont speak up. Thought she is still very funny, always do silly act, playful, always want to have fun and dont bother much things.

Last night, Abella took the school bag I've left on the table despite I told her not to. Clarabelle being embolden, took another bag, both happily playing with it. Then the daddy happen to pass by, quickly they placed back the bag. When daddy walked off, Clarabelle : " Oh! No more..." (puzzle? she meant daddy walk off)she took the bag again, So did Abella. So daring huh? Dont put mommy in the eyes??! So I called the magical words, "DADDY!!!" Immediately, their face turn green (esp Clara), quickly they putted back the bags.

The daddy received my sos, came asking what's happening. The daddy gave them a good "briefing" after listened to my complained and walked off. Abella accepted our explaination and went off playing again but Clarabelle instead, display her temper over her unsatifaction. She lay herself flat on the floor. This is her trademark. Even Abella knows. Whenever she lay flat on the floor, she is angry with something.

The loving Abella saw moody Clarabelle, came telling me: " Mommy, Clarabelle is sad..." I acknowledge Abella but I have to ignore Clara cos I know she wants to catch my attention. I dont give in either as I want her to learn to accept discipline and explaination. By displaying such attitute on her unsatifaction will not help her any.

After sometime, she realise I dont budge. She stand up mumbling she wants to sleep and tried hopping onto the bicycle. Abella saw, quickly went to assist her. After she got seated, she still displayed a unhappy face then closed her eyes pretending to sleep. Sweet Abella took the front seat and offer to fetch her home...(puzzle? that's their kid's talk) She wants to cheer her up : " Clarabelle we have reached! Are you happy?" Clara finally smile and cheered "Happy!" but very soon she turned moody again. Abella continue to pacify her: " clarabelle dont be sad huh? Be happy ok?" but Clarabelle just dont budge. Dishearted Abella told me : "Mommy, Clarabelle dont want to be happy... she wants to be sad..."

Awwh... Abella is such a love... so sensible with a heart of empathy...

As for Clarabelle, most probably we had to find another approach to correct her character. Maybe by soft approach or reverse psychology, I have to try it out very soon...

Vehicular Transportation

The girls are still very fond of vehicular transportation. Whenever we are on the road, they will sure look out for bus, car, motorcycle, truck, van, lorry and trailer. Actually what is the diff between truck & lorry? Anyway...

Recently I have been teaching the girls to differentiate bus, super-long bus and double-deck bus. And I realised the new facelift double-decker was, cooled! So I thought maybe one day should let them experience riding a double-decker ;-)

Last friday, Rachel's family are going back to brisbane and I thought bringing the girls to send bon voyang then we can take the mrt, then bus home as promised. The girls can see the aeroplane too. One stone kills so many birds, I like it.

See, the two birds are chipping around the departure hall.

The girls took sometime to visualize the aeroplane due to the glass reflection at night. Still we had a great time. We had Macdonald happy meal and the girls were roaming around the viewing gallery freely.

We stayed at the airport till pretty late... it time to set off for our public ride journey.

Though this is the second time they are taking the mrt, stil they display some anxiety. The mrt seats were quite occupied. Only manage to get two seats together, the moment I put the two girls to sit, immediately they broke down crying! To avoid attraction, the maid and I quickly carried them. Clarabelle was still in tear when she spilled out: "Qijing take mrt..." Abella also cited: "Weiwei tak mrt..." -_-"

When we manage to get more spacious seats and the girls were in the comfort of our arms, Clarabelle starts babbling: "door open... aunty go out... wow! so many people... ... ..." (self-talk)

However Abella was keeping very quiety, observing her surrounding, the in and out flow of passengers.

me: "Abella, do you like taking mrt?"

Abe: silent...

Clara: "No! Mummy take bus, take double decker bus?" then she turned to Abe trying to advocate her... " Weiwei, take bus? huh? ok? we take bus?" her head still nodding hoping Abe will flow along with her.

me asked again: " Abella, do you like mrt?" then a soft voice spilled out "Y-E-S..."

We didnt take the double decker as there isnt any double decker service can bring us home unless we do another transit but it's getting late, the girls had worn out.

See, Clara lay flat at the doorstep the moment we step in and refuse to budge.

Complaint Queen

We love Double Chocolate Chewy ice-cream. However beside the ice-cream parlour, it's quite difficult to find in our supermart selling this in tub.

One day, during my usual grocery shopping at the supermart, I was trying my luck then, combing through the chiller and surprisingly, this gelazia caught my eye! Dark Chocolate Gelato... Heehee... cant believe my luck, happily I grab home one.

The Verdict
Hmm... It's not as chewy but I love it for it's not very sweet. Simple comment huh? Well, I think my girls will have more comments...

Usually I will make one ice-cream cone and share with the girls. So we are taking turns to "lick" but Clarabelle is always a fast eater, you know, 猪八戒吃寿桃不知道寿桃甜, the kind that finish the food without knowing the taste. When is her turns, instead of licking the gelato, she puts the whole cone into her mouth and bite off a big part! Whereas Abella is the gentle one, just tapping some with her tongue. Seeing that, I feel that Abella is eating less, so when about to finish, I gave Abella the remaining small biscuit cone... it was as small as 1cm only. Happily Abella gallop it and announced "no more!".

Clara protest and ask: Qijing, dont have???!
me: You ate alot already. Just now you bite very big mouth.

And asked the maid to clean them up and give them water in the room... then Abella came telling me Qijing dont want to drink water and drag me into the room...

Clara saw me and remarked : Qijing dont have ice-cream, Weiwei have ice-cream, Weiwei finish the ice-cream, Qijing dont want to drink water...

but after that she finished the water.

Hahaha! This little girls know how to complaint already huh?

What is this? ... ... ... "TOY!"

I always recap the girls' vocab bank up by picking up objects and ask them, " what is this? " and when they answered correctly, I will clap and praise them " Correct! Clever girl! ".

One day, I realised they were counter playing the flash card by asking each other " what is this? "
Aww... isnt this a good sign? They can be each other good learning partner in future... when suddenly Clarabelle flashed a card infront my face and asked: " what is this ? "

Huh?!... So boastful woh, dare to challenge mummy?! Hahaha! Those were what I had impart to you, of course I know lah! Hahaha! She was not convinced and kept flashing more cards till I told her all the names... she must be impressed mummy know so much! Hahaha!

Then that day, the girls were playing with the newly bought "doctor kit"... and I taught them stereoscope, syringe, computer, pincer... then Clarabelle flashed this hammer look alike apparatus on my face and asked: " What is this ? "

Huh??? ... ... ... I was too tire to reflex but frankly tell her... my dear, I am sorry, mummy dont know what is this... very next moment, Clara shouted " TOY!"

=_= " ... ... ... I shd have just tell her, " hammer ".

Little Clarabelle...

I think this has been 2-3 months already. Every morning I will sure wake up having Clarabelle sleeping beside me. My girls are sleeping in our bedroom but on their own matress. But Clara will wake up before dawn and climb onto our bed, by hook or by crook must squeeze beside me. As sometime I already sleeping very near to the verge, yet Clara still wants to squeeze and sleep at that pathetic space. There was one time I woke up from a nightmare dreaming I had kick her down the bed when I tossed, luckily it was just a dream and she was still sleeping soundly beside me...

Shape Sorter

Clarabelle can put the different shape into the correct shape hole already! Mmm... at her 19 months, consider progressing? What notable is she love to do pretending. Everytime before she puts the shape into the correct hole, she will pretend to put at the wrong one and nod her head reciting " no no no " and to another wrong hole again reciting " no no no " till she feel like it, then she puts into the correct one and claps her hand after hearing the " kor kor " (shape drop in making sound).

Clarabelle really enjoyed shape sorting & pretending game.
She has put the four different shape in the respective seating correctly and is giving herself a big applause. Of course prior to that she is doing the " no no no " pretending...

Who has stolen Clarabelle's " mummy" ?

Whenever Clara pester me to carry her, I'll always take this opportunity to make her call mummy. What puzzle me is instead of calling me mummy which she already can, she always call me " daddy ". I thought she might need some recap " Im not daddy, Im your mummy, call ma-mi " but still " daddy " spill out from her mouth. I try to inspire her with her favourite hand-kiss action and mm..ma sound but still she refuse to say mummy and start her "Ah bi, Ah bi" (whenever she is angry she always say " Ah bi ").
This morning I got another good chance when offering this hungry little girl milk. I make her call "mummy" first before giving her the milk. Still the same, she called me "daddy". I tried very hard refreshing her "ma-mi" with emphasized lip but she seem very impatient and hungry and finally she said " barney "! ! ! As I wouldnt wish to starve her further, she has her reward and leaving me with a perplexing question ? ? ?
