Letting go...

Below is a beautiful message I had read about holding on to a relationship…

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge. The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, 'Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don 't fall into the river.'

The little girl said, 'No, Dad. You hold my hand.'

'What's the difference?' asked the puzzled father.

'There's a big difference,' replied the little girl.

'If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go.'

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours...
This message is too short......but carries a lot of Feelings.

An inspirating message that reminded me to hold on to my girls hand than asking them to hold mine. However I also believe, to benefit a child or even a relationship, sometimes one must learn to let go too.

As for my girls, I felt that they have reach the appropriate stage. A suitable age to take charge of themself, learning independance. As being able to depend on yourself seem to give better control of the situation you desire.

A different roof

Of late, Clarabelle has develope an interest in house visiting.

She will either say she has not been to somone house and wants to go someone house or say want to invite someone to our house.

Of course, this somone is one she's fond of, but can be one she just aquainted too and she had chemistry with.

Then she has been bugging my fren, Bernice's mommy, everytime we meet up. Speaking of it, I realised we actually have not been to their house.

So my kind hearted fren invited them and even suggested a "1 day 1 night" stay at her house.

I felt is interrupting, albeit the proposal sound interesting. And it was Bernice's mommy and the 3 little girls bugging, I dont wish to spoil spot but acepted the invitation.

So last Saturday night, I simply packed their "luggage" to send them off.
Probably I was too mindful with my domestical routine to accomplish.
Probably I was thinking this not gona to be real, the girls will back off immediately.

I didnt cater time for emotional, the separation anxiety. Not until the moment, when the car was here to fetch them...

Instantly, the carefree Clarabelle hopped in and beckoned Abella excitedly . The affectionate Abella was already eyes red, hand adhesive to mine, asking me to go along too. I was perspiring panick then but relief in heart too. Still we gave Abella the assurance to go ahead, it'll be fine, mommy will pick her next morning for breakfast, there will be many fun waiting ahead.

Abella is always a "sense" abiding child. After our words, she hugged and kissed me gdnite followed by to her daddy then lifted herself and hop on.

3 little girls waved inside happily as the car moved and disappeared..

I have no time for emotional... It was too late by the time I regreted. I missed them instantly. Not that it was the first time they sleep out, they ever stay-over at their mama's hse. But this time I really felt the amiss.

I was hoping for call... to pick them up, as they were weeping, insist to come home...
but none...

I dosed off and thought will be waken up by early morning call, urging us to bring them home...
but none other than a pic sms, taken 3 beauties sleeping and text, "will return ur girls in the evening..."

Arrh... I cant take it further... I return txt insisting to brin back my girls at noon!

What I had worried for my girls, sound more for myself, the older girl huh?!

Goat farm again ! ! !

Luckily we are staying at the west, if not the frequency of the girls requesting to vist the goat can be quite exhausting!

I thought now they are suitable to consume one bottle (250ml) themself, so this time round, they are not sharing a bottle of goat milk.

Check out the speed of their drinking...

Clara had finished her bot of milk and still trying to dry up the last drop, making some gru-gru sound...

while Abe is still slowly enjoying(struggling) the milk... drank 1/4 only!!!

She only manage to accomplish 1/2 bot then, but I insisted her to finish... afraid may short change her nutrient intake... then when she is trying her best, she puked out all !
-_- Ok ! She has a smaller capacity. Better not force her next time.

Now the girls are also more daring. They get up "close" & personal with the baby goat till Clara almost strangle the poor kid and daddy had to pull her away! Phew... almost kill the poor billy kid man!

and yes, we made a trip to the Seletar camp and visited the Seletar Airport.

Hmm... very puzzle where those flights come from and how they operate... tourists can actually arrive spore from Seletar airport?

Anyway... the girls were very excited when can get up close & personal with an real aeroplane and keep reciting : " wow! aeroplane big big! " where actually those very small passenger plane :p

Spice girl

Two weeks ago we went little indian for north indian vegeterian cuisine and no joke, my girls had tried it!

Notice those cups of gravy? There is a sequence of eating it. Starting hot, then sour and at last sweet... The girls dont really fancy but they are adventurous enough to finish their portion of meal and drank alot of water too. Their curry is not like ours, chilli hot till your lips will swollen and scalp will itch but is the mixture of too many spices that blasted your gastric in surprise.

Clarabelle like most is the "papadum" (indian cracker), keep asking for more.

To help digestion, they actually offer these cinamon seeds at the counter .

Capture this down. Abella was sitting quietly waiting for us to finish our meal but was very disturbed by the continuous loud bang of the restaurant kitchen door. She didnt protest much, just keep covering her ears whenever the door bang. Better not make her suffer, quickly gallop my meal :p

Vehicular Transportation

The girls are still very fond of vehicular transportation. Whenever we are on the road, they will sure look out for bus, car, motorcycle, truck, van, lorry and trailer. Actually what is the diff between truck & lorry? Anyway...

Recently I have been teaching the girls to differentiate bus, super-long bus and double-deck bus. And I realised the new facelift double-decker was, cooled! So I thought maybe one day should let them experience riding a double-decker ;-)

Last friday, Rachel's family are going back to brisbane and I thought bringing the girls to send bon voyang then we can take the mrt, then bus home as promised. The girls can see the aeroplane too. One stone kills so many birds, I like it.

See, the two birds are chipping around the departure hall.

The girls took sometime to visualize the aeroplane due to the glass reflection at night. Still we had a great time. We had Macdonald happy meal and the girls were roaming around the viewing gallery freely.

We stayed at the airport till pretty late... it time to set off for our public ride journey.

Though this is the second time they are taking the mrt, stil they display some anxiety. The mrt seats were quite occupied. Only manage to get two seats together, the moment I put the two girls to sit, immediately they broke down crying! To avoid attraction, the maid and I quickly carried them. Clarabelle was still in tear when she spilled out: "Qijing take mrt..." Abella also cited: "Weiwei tak mrt..." -_-"

When we manage to get more spacious seats and the girls were in the comfort of our arms, Clarabelle starts babbling: "door open... aunty go out... wow! so many people... ... ..." (self-talk)

However Abella was keeping very quiety, observing her surrounding, the in and out flow of passengers.

me: "Abella, do you like taking mrt?"

Abe: silent...

Clara: "No! Mummy take bus, take double decker bus?" then she turned to Abe trying to advocate her... " Weiwei, take bus? huh? ok? we take bus?" her head still nodding hoping Abe will flow along with her.

me asked again: " Abella, do you like mrt?" then a soft voice spilled out "Y-E-S..."

We didnt take the double decker as there isnt any double decker service can bring us home unless we do another transit but it's getting late, the girls had worn out.

See, Clara lay flat at the doorstep the moment we step in and refuse to budge.

-_-

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Yesterday was our National 41th Birthday! Happy Birthday Singapore!

It was a public holiday and the girls realised that when they woke up seeing daddy & mummy not dressed up to work but still on bed!

Clarabelle pester daddy... "daddy go farm (goat farm)? huh? go farm?" and YES! Daddy agreed! So immediately we set off after a quick wash up as we want to catch the goat milking session before it end at 11am!

It was a wonderful morning, breezy blue sky with beautiful cloud, everything was perfect for such outing!

When we passed by the Kranji Reservoir, Clara yelled with excitement: "Mummy see! Water !"

It was high tide! The water level is almost the same as the road level. The girls were so delightful, they love to see anything associated with water... kept reciting water, water fall, swimming... etc

When we reached the goat farm, it was already crowded with families. We were just in time for the last milking session. Standing at the viewing platform was an "pungent" process but the girls dont seem to be bothered instead kept imitating the goat bleating, mie... mie... as if they were able to communicating with the goat... *eye rolling*

Beside watching the goat in the farm, the girls enjoyed most is the goodness of the milk! Most people will cringe at the smell of goat milk but I am glad that they love goat milk, most probably it's the chocolate flavour and the chillness, the only drink I gave them so chilled. Really have to drink it very chilled then the goaty smell is not so overwhelming though the tints of chocolate does help abit too.

Sharing a 250ml bottle is definately not enough for them but I made them share, the chillness of the milk can really make them cough...

Beside the goat farm, Kranji does has many other nature places to be explored. We drove into an jetty and realised that was the Lim Chu Kang Police Coast. It is also a pier for fisherman at the nearby kelong to reach spore. The pier deck was not very secure and wobble but that doesnt intimidated us from getting near to the sea... the air doesnt smell good (rotten fish) but the scenary is tranquilling... this place may be daddy's new fishing hangout... the girls love it and kept looking out for fishes... and me? sure come back for more picture, when I got myself a better pixel camera! : (

Next stop, we went to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Entrance fee $1 for adult and 50 cents for children. Im not prepare to pay entrance fee for a nature walk but thinking it's just a nominal amount, for maintaining the nature... well, this is the minimum I shd do to help conserving the nature...

I will advise to go this place well equipped. Binocular, good camera, head gear, proper walking gear, generous time and a filled stomach. This place has too much to see and you really need the time to appreciate the scenary. This time round was too ahoc. The girls were hungry and tire. Though we saw the monitor lizard, mud skipper and tree crawling crab... We will definately come back next time, well prepared... :)

This was how the girls celebrated this year National Day, Roar ! Mie...! A tranquillity National Day :)

Durian Season is here!

Yummy! The durian season is finally here! This is the first time the girls are trying durian and no doubt, they love it just like mummy does :q Freshly pry the thorny husk, see the dark yellow, thick mushy fruit, quick, put it in your mouth, hmm... so creamy rich, bitter sweet... *eye wide* chew ji (small seed), Yummy! Good till licking fingers!

Durian is the king of tropical fruit and mangosteen is the queen. Durian is a very "heaty" fruit so "heaty base" people are advice to take mangosteen (cooling) after eating durian to neutralise the body heat. Alternatively, can also keep the husk of the durian to contain some salt and disolve with tap water then drink it! I am a "cooling base" person, so no matter how much durian I had ate, still I dont get sore throat. However, I love the drink from the durian husk! Cooled man!

I love to eat my durian chilled too! Especially durian is a high cabohydrate food, very filling... the max I can eat is about 10 seeds. So the remaining, I will chilled it for next day serving and it taste like ice-cream :q

I do have some dislike about durian... that is the expired smell left on your fingers the next day, no matter how much detergent you have soak in, the smell just dont go off. Only after 2 days... then it goes off naturally and quitely. Another thing is the urine, normally after eating durian, your urine will looks very yellowish with tint of expired durian smell, so dont be alarmed, just remember to drink more water.
Beside the exotic taste I loved about durian, durian is good for me when I have my menses cramp, better than taking panadol... amazing right?

But advise for gout and diabetes patients and extremely "heaty" people, please eat sensibly, ok ;) Posted by Picasa

Up Close and Personal with Barney !

Last sunday we brought the girls to IMM for an Up Close and Personal with Barney! We arrived on time but the stage area was already crowded and barricade were up. We should have anticipated the crowd but anyway we get to see barney in person from a distance.

The girls didnt not display great excitment when they saw Barney and friends. Neither did they sing or dance along with the familiar song they enjoyed watching everyday. Look like they are the quiet-shy type or maybe they have not develope their personality yet... we shall wait and see... 女大十八变... who knows... but still I perfer girls to be demure but talented.

I think the girls had enjoyed the show very much, albeit quietly.

Finally they responded... it was the end of the 15 mins show and they waved bye bye...

Walking around the NH (Part 2)

Walking on Singapore grass is always so... crispy! We are early, we still can find the morning dew on the grass. I remember when young, my daddy used to bring our family to Botanical Garden for a walk and we set off real early, we usually will see the beautiful day break at the Botanical Garden. My daddy love to walk bare feet on the grass, the morning dew will wet his feet, he say is good for health. My dad loves nature, he missed his kampong childhood.

It's nice that the girls love climbing up & down the hill, hee, actually just a small heap of earth.

The girls are perspiring, like just come out of the pool, dripping water. Singapore is too humid! You will drenched your whole cloth even you are just strolling. That's how children catch a cold easily if they are not pat dry fast.

We brought Terry along too...
He is definately having great time! See his tail wagging? Hee :)

It's amazing to find edible plant too... Banana, Curry leaves, Mints leaves and the blossom Peony. I asked Clara is the flower pretty? She answered : " Hua! pretty!"

Walking around the neighbourhood.

Last weekend was a wonderful weekend, as friday was a holiday *Yeah* weekend came early and was longer. We had alots of fruitful outing. One of it was walking around the neighbourhood which all the while I have been wanting to do with the girls especially when I saw the little meadow at the entrance of our precinct was blooming with little yellow flower...

Dono the name nor the origin of the flower, but they are so beautiful, like a little butterfly dancing happily in the meadow... so I called them
" 黄色小蝴蝶 ".

Mimosa

Toadstool

I recalled I was a flower " imbecile " when I was a little girl. I loved to pluck these little " wild " flower I saw on the way to my kindergarden or back home. Even my mum had strictly forbid me, I'll still secretly pluck them... I liked my granny to fetch me to school, she unlike mum, though granny will scold me silly and ask " what so nice about these flower? ", still she let me pluck...
